We strongly recommend that you book your flights as early as you can. This will allow you to have a look around to find the best deal – in general the later you book your flights the more expensive they will be. Hopper is a flight booking app that predicts when flight prices will be cheapest and advises on the best time to book.

If you go through EasyFundraising you may be able to fundraise for Moving Mountains while booking your flights, at no extra cost to you. Add their “Find and Remind” toolbar to your internet browser so you don’t forget.

Below are a few suggestions of places to buy flights.

Sky Scanner

Sky Scanner is a very good website for searching for flights, and often beats prices elsewhere. This is a very good starting point.

Nepal

The most convenient point of entry into Nepal for the medical camp trip is via Tribhuvan International airport in Kathmandu. However, flying into Delhi, India then travelling overland to Kathmandu by train and bus can be cheaper than flying direct to Kathmandu. Another option is to book your flights from the UK to Delhi, then a separate flight to Kathmandu with a low cost airline, such as IndiGo or GoAir. If you do chose this option please allow enough time between flights, particularly if each leg is a different airline. It is also important to look at visa requirements for countries you might be travelling through - for example India requires you to obtain a visa before departure from the UK - see here for more information. Airlines to look at include Jet Airways (via Mumbai), Gulf Air (via Bahrain), Qatar Airways (via Doha), Etihad (via Abu Dhabi).

Kenya

The most convenient point of entry into Kenya for the medical camp trip is via Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JRO) in Nairobi. Kenya Airways (KQ) and British Airways (BA) offer daily direct flights from London Heathrow to Nairobi and flight times are approximately 8 hours and 30 minutes. Airlines to look at with stop-overs and connections en-route include Ethiopian Airlines, KLM, Air France, Qatar Airways and Emirates.
